So, I handed you a Polaroid picture at a festival, show or maybe just on some random street corner.  That was pretty cool huh?  Now what?  Well, if you've found yourself reading this, you've taken the first step in sharing your story with me and others about that moment in time that has been captured forever in a 4.25x3.5 film.

I've started this community blog because I'm selfish.  That's right, it really exists because I want to know your story (and see your picture!) and share it with others who may have been handed a random photo as well.  It's fun for me to walk up and snap a photo, maybe knowingly or unknowingly to people, and just hand it off and walk away.  I love to see the look on people's faces as they sit there and watch the picture come alive, it's pretty neat still to this day.

I don't get to see the final product usually, but it's cool to see people's reaction, first off, they can't believe they just got handed a Polaroid picture.  A lot of people, especially the younger generation, probably never even had a Polaroid camera, or any kind of film camera for that matter.  Gone are the days when you didn't know if you got a good shot of something, having to wait to use up a film roll, get it developed, only to find out eyes were closed or the lighting was terrible.  I guess you could say that Polaroids were kind of ahead of their time.  A nostalgic precurser to the instant digital world we live in now, were you just take another picture instantly if you didn't get it right the first time.

This blog is a platform for those who've been handed one of my pictures to share their story and their picture if they choose to.  If you've been handed a photo from me, all you have to do is become a follower of the YourPolaroid Blog, send me a comment or message, and I will give you full access to post your picture and story on the site.  If you're not 'Blog Savvy', just shoot me an email at YourPolaroid@Yahoo.com with your story and a picture of your picture, and I'll post it on the site for you.

There you have it.  I hope you enjoy the picture you were a part of.  Hang it on the fridge.  Think about this cool old form of media and how 'instant' our worlds are now.  Slow down.  Take it all in.  Be good to each other.
